#BePrepared - Extreme Heat

As we move into September, temperatures may cool in some areas but heat up in others. Protect yourself and loved ones during extreme heat by:

• Knowing and watching for signs of heatstroke or heat illness.

Gathering supplies so you can stay comfortable, don’t forget to consider unique needs.

• Closing all windows/doors and using window coverings to keep the heat out.

• Limiting physical activities to mornings and evenings when it’s coolest.

• Getting creative with cooling down, like offering pets frozen treats and playing in the shade.
