#BePrepared - Winter Wildfire Safety

Despite the official end of wildfire season, the absence of snow poses an increased risk of wildfires in Alberta. Extreme caution is urged, especially for those planning backpacking or hunting trips. 

Follow these steps to ensure your campfire is properly extinguished: 

• Soak the fire.
• Stir the ashes.
• Soak it again until there is zero heat.


It is also advised that burning projects be put on hold until there's at least 15 cm of snow on the ground.
