Get Ahead of an Evacuation

Did you know last week, Clearwater County issued an evacuation order due to wildfire threat? Evacuation orders are issued when lives are in danger, and the only way to be safe is to leave. When threats are high in your area, take preparedness steps so you are ready to leave on short notice.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  • Know what’s happening in your area by signing up to receive alerts, like the Alberta Emergency Alert
  • Pack a grab and go bag with important documents, medications, and personal items to help meet your needs for a few days.
  • Keep vehicle fuel tanks topped up. If you don’t drive, start a conversation with members in your community to arrange a ride.
